The killer isβ¦β¦ stating your goals in a negative context.
Examples:
βI want to lose weight because I DONβT WANT to be on medication for the rest of my life.β
βI want to lose weight because I DONβT WANT to have chronic pain.β
βI want to lose weight because I DONβT WANT to be the fat friend.β
Way to change this:
I want to lose weight because I WANT to get off medication.
I want to lose weight because I WANT to live pain free.
I want to lose weight because I WANT to feel confident in my group of friends.
What you say over and over will eventually be what your actions align with (as a default)... without even trying or recognizing it.
All you need to do is become aware and be intentional about catching yourself and flipping the script!
