We recognize that Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was inspired by what he learned from the Bible. As we begin exploring the discipline of reading the Bible, we realize that the Bible is not meant to be totally understood in one reading but rather inspire us to keep studying it.
Discussion Question(s)
• What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about the Bible?
Prayer
Dear God, we thank you for this day, and for all of your blessings. We thank you for people like Dr. King who were and are dedicated to making the world more like you want it to be. Help us to have the courage to join them in this work. We also thank you for the Bible, which helps us better understand you and your will for us. Amen.
