After a deadly Black Friday riot in Plymouth, Massachusetts, a mysterious killer dressed as a pilgrim starts targeting those responsible for the chaos. As the body count rises, the town finds itself terrorized by gruesome killings tied to the Thanksgiving holiday. With the killer's true motives gradually revealed, the survivors must figure out how to stop the pilgrim before the Thanksgiving feast becomes their last meal.
Thanksgiving is based on a fake trailer created for Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's *Grindhouse* (2007). Roth had long desired to turn this mock trailer into a full feature and finally succeeded in 2023. The film uses practical effects to deliver gruesome kills, paying homage to classic grindhouse films while also poking fun at American holiday traditions. Patrick Dempsey's role as the sheriff marks a return to horror for the actor.
