Do you feel like you need to look after your employees’ careers, life experiences or happiness?  If so, you are probably taking on way more than you should.  It can be tempting to solve problems for our team members, including ensuring they are happy beyond work, that they are seeking out career growth etc, or even (as we hear) ensuring they have petrol in their car.  The reality is that, when we do this, we are not helping our people take responsibility for their own issues and feel the satisfaction of problem solving and growing.  

 

In this episode Juliet and Kristy-Lee share their experiences of teams where the leaders have taken responsibility for way more than they need to, and the impact on both the leaders and the team members.
