Description

Compound Grief happens when multiple traumas are experienced. When this happens, you don't have time to handle the primary grief, much less the second, third or fourth. With COVID, inflation and now recession hitting us along with the loss of our spouse, Compound Grief is in play.

To help understand Compound Grief and it's impact on grief and growth, we turn to Helen Keeling-Neal, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Nationally Certified Counselor with a private practice, Kingfisher Counseling.

As well, Helen has a personal experience with grief and loss, as a widow, her husband passing away when her children were only 4 and 6 years old. In this session Helen and I define Compound Grief, discuss the impacts of this trauma on the mind and body, and help guide proven ways to overcome.
