There has been a ton of talk about the ongoing Etsy strike. As an Etsy seller, I've had many people reach out to me and ask what's going on and if I'm striking as well. Here's my position:
First of all, I understand the anger and frustration that many Etsy sellers are feeling right now. I understand and empathize with those who are striking. This is not an easy decision to make, and I respect the courage it takes to stand up for what you believe in. But rather than striking, I'm choosing to take a different approach.
In this episode, I'll discuss why I'm not striking against Etsy and what I am doing instead. Join Jennifer Jeremiah and me as we chat about why people are striking, our initial thoughts about the price increase, and what you can do to keep more revenue, in which the Etsy Pricing Calculator below can come in handy!
Our guest Jennifer Jeremiah is the seamstress behind The Conscious Cloth and Lifecycle Apparel. She wants to make a better Earth for future generations and uses her businesses as examples. Her businesses make reusable organic materials such as facial rounds and nursing pads which Jennifer believes can help people have a more sustainable lifestyle.
What you'll Learn
"I do hope that Etsy takes note, especially with customer service and a few of the other issues. I think these are all extremely relevant issues. Us saying that we are keeping our shops open and not striking is not saying that we do not understand these issues. We stand with the sellers' concerns. They are extremely valid."
