It's a very special year. I am changing the focus of the podcast this year to be one from principles of health, beyond only the physical and beyond the mind-body-spirit paradigm. We are more than our dress sizes. We are more than our caloric intake. Let's stop treating our bodies as battlefields!
I will interview individual women about past, present, and future healthy her. We will hear each unique woman's personal health story.
Our first guest is Dr. Tamra Beauboeuf-Lafontant, Department chair of Gender, Women's, and Sexuality Studies, and Louise R. Noun Chair in Gender, Women's and Sexuality Studies at Grinnell College. She wrote, "Behind the Mask of the Strong Black Woman: Voice and the Embodiment of a Costly Performance." We unpack the concept of strength and how it impacts health and well-being.
