What is plant based anyways? Have you ever been curious about what being plant based means? Do you wonder how you would survive eating plant based? I am excited to chat with Karen who has been plant based for 5 years now. She tells us about her journey, why she chose this route and what health issues she cleaned up by eating this way. Even if you are not wanting to be fully plant based, we could all use a little more veggies in our diet. I hope you get curious and experiment a little and see how your body responds. Your health is a journey of trying things to find what is best for you! Enjoy this episode.
Karen is a health coach and educator for all things plant-based. After suffering for several years with multiple chronic health conditions as well as endless trips to see doctors and specialists who only had another round of antibiotics as a solution for her completely wrecked digestion and skin, she made a life changing decision to ditch the pills and followed her intuition to a plant based diet. As soon as she began working with a plant-based coach in July 2018, healing began immediately and every single one of her miserable conditions cleared up completely! She founded her company, Let’s Get Clear, to make living a plant-based lifestyle achievable for anyone. Now in her 40’s, she is healthier than she has ever been with the clear glowing skin her teenage self was so desperate for! She is here for those struggling to gure out how to thrive with plant based, and for everyone wanting to incorporate more plant-based eating into their lives.

Juicer: I use an Omega Slow Masticating (press) juicer. I have used it almost every day for five years, and it is still going strong! I recommend a press over centrifugal juicers. Centrifugal juicers use a disc with blades that spins at a very high speed and cuts the juice from the produce instead of pressing the juice out. I prefer the quality of juice a press provides and you get more juice out of greens with a masticating (press) juicer. I started with a $65 centrifugal Hamilton Beach juicer and received all of the amazing benefits of juicing! A centrifuge juicer or different slow masticating juicer than the Omega is a great place to start.
