Happy New Year sports fans.
Whenever we close the book on one year and move on to the next one, it is always a time to reflect on the past. In this episode of the Historically Speaking Sports Podcast, I will do just that.
When I was nine years old I became captivated with college football. It was 1982 and there were 16 bowl games that year as opposed to the current list of 42 this year. We will go through all 16 bowl game from that season which included a matchup of future Heisman Trophy winners, a legendary coach saying good bye and, just for the sixth time ever, a matchup between #1 and #2 in a bowl game for the National Championship.
Later in the show, one of the bowl games I featured in the main event, the Bluebonnet Bowl will be recognized in the "Shout out" portion of the show.
And of course we will have the Homefield Apparel Top 5 where we will countdown the five most memorable moments of 2022.
