Exercise improves mood and happiness in a variety of ways, but how does crossfit bring joy and a unique connection to people? How do movements ease anxiety? As a person with so many insecurities, how would you invest in yourself to help you grow and find self-love? And what’s a good intention for you to change?

This week's ikala Podcast episode, Joewel Pascual will be joined by Olga Tokar. Olga has been involved in different kinds of activities for the majority of her life. It started with dancing, soccer, yoga, Olympic Weightlifting and fitness. Further, learning more about exercise and movement science, allowed her to better understand body mechanics as well as physiological and psychological benefits of movement. Being at school, she discovered CrossFit. At first, the workouts were very intense for her and she could not do many movements, but the spirit in the gym with strong athletes cheering the last one to finish was often what helped her to stick to it. She is still getting stronger and learning what her body is capable of physically. Exercise is also most beneficial for her for my mental health. Moving her body helps her to stay more present and cope with everyday stress. Recently she has started to focus more on nutrition as it is a big part of a healthy lifestyle.
