Joshua M. Guilbert, PhD is “Batman,” and he lives in Luta as the head of the Division of Fish & Wildlife under the Department of Lands and Natural Resources in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
Batman is a mammologist and in charge of Fanihi conservation. His wife Rebecca Hamner, PhD is a conservation geneticist and assisted in fostering abandoned fanihi pups to healthy adults. Batman says their ultimate goal is to take the fanihi off the endangered species list.
