2006 saw the celebration of 40 years of Star Trek and
to celebrate Pocket Books put together an ebook series comprising
of six books that would span the entire Original Series timeline.
Each story would build on the next as Kirk and his crew dealt with
the aftermath of a disaster on the planet Mestiko.
