Description

Have you ever been on one of those people movers at an airport? The danger there happens when you go on autopilot and allow yourself to just move along without paying attention to what might be ahead. The people mover always comes to an end at some point and if you don't plan for it, the adjustment can cause a bit of a stumble.

Your career can be a bit like that. In today's episode, I talk about how to be proactive instead of reactive, so that you are ready when opportunities arise or disruptions happen. From a practical perspective, it looks like these three things:

1) tracking your accomplishments

2) regularly updating your resume and LinkedIn profile

3) being the CEO of your career

If you do these things, you'll be prepared for and be able to take advantage of whatever happens, instead of it taking advantage of you.
