Message From Lauren -
On Friday, we stepped out of our comfort zone and went to be interviewed by Mary at Nottingham Hospital Radio.
We spoke about my journey with postnatal depression and how Mums on the Move came about.
At the end of the interview, Mary reflected that my approach was to get out and do something — and while that worked for me, I want to make something very clear:
Just because it worked for me does not mean it’s right for you — and that’s okay.
Postnatal depression affects everyone differently, so please don’t compare your journey to someone else’s.
Mums on the Move is a community of women for women. We support each other and lift each other up.
There’s no pressure, no judgement, and definitely no cliquey or bitchy vibes here.
If you’re battling postnatal depression, I want you to know this: you are not alone — even when it feels like you are.
If you’re not ready to join a walk, that’s okay. You can message us anytime if you just need a chat.
If you want to come on a walk but don’t feel like talking, that’s okay too.
If you need someone to hold or push your baby, that’s okay.
If you need a cry or a hug, we’re really good at those.
If you want to share your win of the day, we’ll celebrate with you.
Either way, we’ve got you — and you’ve got us.
So take the first step and come and see for yourself what Mums on the Move is all about and why it’s so special
