Are you the type of person that gives so much love, compassion, and encouragement to others, but forget to give to yourself?

Do you find it easy to give advise or help someone you love solve a problem, but don't take the same advise?

This is all part of the human experience. Next time you are in turmoil and alone with your own thoughts remove yourself from yourself, or pretend to be a fly-on-the-wall watching yourself behave in the moment, then you can create distance from the situation. Let the self-talk be as if you were talking to another person.

Psychologists call this Distance Self-Talk, athletes use alter egos, high performers use call themselves by their name. It allows for space and you can coach yourself through the problem. It's a psychological jiu-jitsu move.
