Opinion

The story didn't really pull me in, and it kind of seemed to move slowly as there was a ton of description in an attempt to trigger the theater of the mind. For me the production made it sound good, but the story just moved to slowly for me. In the minutes I listened to, I think the only action that happened is you were moved to another jail with writing on the wall.  I guess your blindfold was off as you can see. While the stakes were death (soldiers with guns).
