Today, 1 poem from God’s Rhyme & 2 recent ones.
THE RETURN (God’s Rhyme, Pg. 38)
listen –
I hear,
I hear a whisper;
a sound
ever so gentle,
as if a cool breeze
comforting
in the heat
were found
when standing still.
Shh . . . . .
I hear it again,
calling,
calling me, . . . “come,
come,
you are falling,
feel My arms,
I will catch you.”
“I’ll comfort you son.”
Oh, thank you Father,
I love You, I missed You.”
“Welcome home,
We rejoice in your homecoming,
son.”
“Your room
is as you left it;
as are you & I,
as we once were.”
The water drops
on His sleeve
were not from storm clouds;
gone they now are.
No, my tears fell,
fell freely
on His majestic robes of grace.
He so loved me
and rejoiced in my return.
I wept
joyfully
in His arms,
My Father,
My Redeemer,
My God.
Reflection:
THE RETURN, a recurring theme. One I wish I didn't have to write about, but am glad that I can write about. No matter what I may do, God will always welcome me back. And when I later realized how I must hurt God when I wander, I also realized that I must also forgive myself. If I don't, I am still distant from God until I do forgive.
Discussion:
The next two poems were written are the first two written in 2023.
DAY TWO
Day two,
The year is new,
So much to do
Beyond day two.
As I have been blessed,
I must help the rest
Find peace in their life
Overcoming strife.
Yes, I can write a word
Others may have heard.
Now I must share
With love an care.
My life no longer mine,
I have now seen the sigh
Of words ever divine.
I see the finish line.
I will follow where He leads,
I will pray and plant the seeds.
He has prepared good deeds
For me to serve other’s needs.
