I’m sure when she originally sang “you”, Mariah was actually thinking about a particular microphone that she had her eye on. Perhaps swooning over a rather special condenser microphone that highlights the sparkly frequencies in her voice.
It’s plausible and I won’t let you tell me otherwise. I am not being ridiculous.
