Ryan Spuhler is an archivist for a county government in Pennsylvania. Ryan loves to fish the rivers and lakes of Pennsylvania for large and smallmouth bass. As a records keeper, Ryan is always in search of the elusive 20″+ largemouth bass. These are hard to come by in his parts in their heavily fished waters. Most weekends you can find Ryan going through the same routine. Loading the kayak on top of the car, the fishing gear in it, and heading off to the old fishing hole in search of that record fish. The trip Ryan describes in this episode started out much the same. But it ended in a broken heart. Then a mended heart. And all by the same fish. This one will definitely have you doing a double take …
