Description

In this episode of the Awareness to Action Enneagram podcast, Mario Sikora, María José Munita, Seth "Creek" Creekmore starts their discussion on the core qualities and accelerators, two things in the ATA approach that are helpful in redefining the old language to something that is a little more flexible to the human condition. We all have characteristics of what it means to be human and the three hosts discuss how these core qualities are reflections of that.

“The key distinction here is that we do not see these qualities as fully formed. We see them as things that exist in us in an immature form, and ideally they mature as we go through life.” -Mario [03:44]

“So core qualities are another way of saying specific human potentials, aspirations?” -Creek [13:32]

“We see how in the work that we’re doing and within ourselves, the stunting of the core quality and the loss of that connection with the core quality is something that shows up when we’re going through some difficult or challenging times. And when we work with it, we see how it’s almost painful for people to experience it. But it’s not something that we teach lightly. We use it in coaching or in certain trainings where it is important to understand that it’s subtle and it’s deep.” -María José [19:08]
