Jesus stated in Matthew 5:17 (NIV) “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law…” Jesus did not change the law of Moses, but most teachers on the subject of divorce do not know the laws. To apply Jesus’ teachings we must first understand the law. What was the law regarding adultery? And why was this so important to what Jesus was explaining?
