Description

This week saw a new term begin at Stormont, but old problems remained for our politicians to grapple with.

Monday began with a dispute over flags.

The start of a new year at Stormont was marked by a slew of party leaders taking questions from reporters.

The politicians were quizzed on their use of the social media platform 'X', amid growing condemnation of the platform's AI tool 'Grok' and its ability to generate non-consensual sexualised images.

Both of these issues were discussed against the backdrop of continued financial instability for Stormont departments.

This week also saw Jon Burrows move a step closer to becoming the next leader of the Ulster Unionist Party.

In this episode of UTV's fortnightly politics podcast 'UTV Talking Politics', UTV's Political Editor Tracey Magee and Political Correspondent Vicki Hawthorne discuss a new term at Stormont, with old problems for our politicians.
