About Our Guest

Joseph S. Pizzo is a seventh-grade language arts teacher of 42 years at Black River Middle School in Chester Township, NJ (Morris County). He was recently named the 2016 Educator of the Year for the NJ Association for Middle-Level Education.

Joseph is also a former president of the NJ Council of Teachers of English and their Educator of the Year in 2005. Recognized as a WMGQ-98.3 FM “Teacher Who Makes Magic” in 2013, Pizzo serves as a member of Scholastic’s National Teacher Advisory Board.
