Check Your Priorities – Wisdom Unplugged

Wisdom Unplugged - Leaf

Thank you for joining us for our 5 days per week wisdom and legacy building podcast. This is Day 562 of our trek, and it is time for a 3-minute mini-trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.

Today’s quote is from Dr. Charles Stanley who said, “Our challenge for today and every day is to make it a priority to invest time with the Lord in His Word. We may have to reorganize our schedule or wake up earlier. But it’s worth the effort — discernment, and wisdom await us if we put into practice the truths we absorb each day.”

Priorities on bible

What are your priorities? You may think you know them, but to really understand what your priorities are, keep track of what you invest your time and money on. Once you do this, you may certainly need to rearrange your life so that your actions actually are in line with your desired priorities.

One area of life that many people neglect is their spiritual health. To be strong spiritually, you must invest the time needed to learn from God’s Word, which will build up your spiritual muscle and strengthen you as a Christ-follower. You can also think of the time invested in learning God’s precepts from the Bible as implementing a filter in your mind so that it will filter out the false and negative input and leave you with a clean spiritual perspective.

Consider God’s Word a Brita Filter for your mind. When you invest time in God’s Word, and it becomes a daily habit, then you will gain the wisdom, insight, and understanding that is needed to live a rich and satisfying life. To be transformed, you need to implement these habits into your daily schedule, which will progressively allow you to change the way you think.

The more time you invest in God’s Word, the more mindset change you will see. As Romans 12:2 tells us, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
