Thank you for joining us for our five days per week wisdom and legacy building podcast. This is Day 787 of our trek, and it is time for a 3-minute mini-trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today’s quote is from John O’Donohue, and it is, “One of the most beautiful gifts in the world is the gift of encouragement. When someone encourages you, that person helps you over a threshold you might otherwise never have crossed on your own.”
Similar to the attribute of kindness, we all flourish when we are encouraged by others. With this in mind, we should make it a habit to encourage everyone that we meet each day with genuine sincerity. Encourage on a regular basis so that when others describe you as a person they will use the verb encourager.
The most meaningful and precious gifts which we can give to each other cost us nothing monetarily. Instead, they are multiplied each time they are given. When you encourage others, it helps them to fulfill their God-given potential for their lives and also for yours.
The writer of Hebrews encourages us in the same manner in Hebrews 10:24-25, “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”
If you are already an encourager, continue to do so as we are told in 1 Thessalonians 5:11, “So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.”
