A Prepared Marriage

Two elderly women, Maggie and Sue, met for the first time since graduating from high school. Maggie asked Sue, “You were always so organized in school. Did you manage to live a well-planned life?”

“Yes,” Sue said. “My first marriage was to a millionaire; after he died my second marriage was to an actor; unfortunately he died also, and my third marriage was to a preacher, and after his untimely death I am now married to an undertaker.”

Maggie then asked Sue, “Oh my, with so much misfortune in your life, what do all those marriages have to do with a well-planned life?”

Well, Sue said, “One for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go.”
