Today’s quote is from David Brinkley, and it is, “A successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him or her.”

Success is never easy. If it were not hard enough to succeed based on obstacles that you will face, some obstructions come from other people. Some of these may be family and friends. You will run into people that try to trip you up or discourage you from your trek to success. You will even have some people that will figuratively throw bricks at you.
The truly successful person is one who through consistent persistence continues to press forward, regardless of the situations or people that obstruct their way. We need to take our failures and lessons learned to construct a firm foundation that will be able to withstand the buffeting winds of life.
Success is personal, and should rarely be equated with monetary success. Success at its very core will be made up of peace of mind and contentment. Success is a place of quiet rest after going through the raging storms that will battle against us at the most inopportune time.
