Jesus commands us to love God with all of our being – heart, soul, mind, and strength – and to love our neighbor as ourselves. When we look around at other people in the world, especially those with whom we disagree, do we see a neighbor? When we look in the mirror, do we love the person we see? Are we willing to see the world with God’s eyes of love, or do we allow the divisions so prevalent in our world to obscure our eyes so that we don’t really see and love others, or ourselves, as God does?
