As a fulfillment of the beautiful Psalm 23 and many more promises in the Old Testament, Jesus presents Himself as the Good Shepherd. He knows us, and we learn to hear His voice and follow Him wherever He goes. This close bond between Jesus and us is the essence of genuine Christianity. Verse 17 raises a legitimate question.
