The home movies are back, the body count is rising, and Bughuul isn't finished with us yet! Sinister 2 returns to the disturbing supernatural world of the original film, delivering more creepy recordings, gruesome murders, and a new family caught in the middle of a terrifying nightmare.
In this R Rating podcast, we're diving into Sinister 2, the 2015 sequel to the hit supernatural horror movie Sinister. This time, we're following former deputy So & So as he investigates the mysterious murders connected to Bughuul, while a mother and her twin sons find themselves living in a house with a horrifying past.
We'll discuss the sequel's collection of disturbing Super 8 films, the creepy mythology surrounding Bughuul, the performances, the atmosphere, and the movie's attempts to recreate the dread that made the original so effective. We'll also talk about the unsettling child characters, the increasingly bizarre recordings, and whether the sequel's scares actually work.
Of course, we have to compare it to the original Sinister. Can a sequel really recapture the terror of those infamous home movies, or does showing us more of the monster make him less frightening?
