Meet Allison Moncheck, the owner of Unorthodox Salon and known as @theunorthodoxstylist on instagram.
She specializes in brunettes, reds, dimensional lived-in color, handtied extensions, and custom precision haircutting.
Although her first career as a school counselor ended after 5 years, she pursued her passion for the hair industry and built her business and clientele from the ground up. Currently, she is working part time behind the chair and traveling as an independent educator.
She is an award-winning stylist with numerous recognitions and nominations in various beauty magazines, publications, and international competitions.
She is a dog mom to Finn and Penny. Finn is a 6 year old English Setter and Pitbull mix and Penny is a 2 year old purebred English Setter. Finn is a registered therapy dog so you can find him roaming around at the salon keeping everyone company.
She owns her own home, loves to travel, and is a big foodie! Outside of the salon, you can find her reading mystery or fiction books, spending time with friends, working on backend salon work and social media, or listening to true crime podcasts.
