Description

On this episode of Future-Proof Operations, Benjamin Brockmann welcomes Pascal Brosset, Industry X Production & Operations Lead at Accenture.

Benjamin and Pascal explore how digital twins enable autonomous operations.

Pascal is an expert in digital manufacturing and transformation. He reveals which general trends we can expect over the coming years.

Physically, manufacturing plants will look different because they will be more modular to accommodate greater flexibility. This will allow for smoother operations. Teams will be more integrated and there will be new roles and new responsibilities for frontline workers.

70% of the processes (i.e. the act of producing and keeping things safe) can be done autonomously through real-time intelligence. This allows for “big thinking versus small fixing.”

Pascal shares an example. Suppose an engineer previously needed three weeks to extract data from an Excel spreadsheet. Now, cloud-based AI can give her the same information within five minutes.

The bottom line: manufacturers who succeed in achieving digital-twin-based MOM (manufacturing operations management) architectures will be ready for tomorrow's challenges.
