Rozella Mahjhrin is a diversity, disability and body inclusivity advocate, TED X speaker, face of it Cosmetics and founder of the community platform True Complexion which celebrates difference and diversity in all its beauty. Rozella has a nevus flammeus (birthmark) on her face and has endured bullying, unwanted comments and staring. She has suffered with anxiety, an eating disorder and alcohol abuse. After hitting rock bottom, Rozella decided that she was going to own the way she looked. And that her birthmark might actually be her superpower.
We talk about how she manages anxiety and body image now, the diversity she would like to see in beauty and fashion campaigns and how inclusivity on its own is not enough. Brands must also commit to inclusivity and equity behind the scenes.
