中國人有一句很出的話, 失敗乃成功之母。沒有失敗那裡會有成功呢? 以色列人在艾城失敗了, 他們是怎樣失敗的呢? 最主要的原因他們有隱藏的罪; 但感謝神他們悔改了, 他們勇敢面對失敗, 將當滅之物都除去了, 第八章是他們第二次去攻打艾城, 這次他們成功了, 他們反敗為勝的原因在那裡: 1.再次以耶和華為元帥 2.精心設計攻城的策略 3.恢復了敬畏神的敬拜
"Failure is the mother of success" — a popular Chinese saying — certainly applied to the Israelites in Joshua 8. After their defeat at Ai, they repented and trusted God again to gain the victory. This week, Rev. Jeremiah Cheung reminds us that if we turn back and recognize God as our Lord, He will transform our defeats into victories.
