聖經裡有好的父母但兒女卻不好, 也有不好的父母但兒女卻很好; 撒母耳是士師也是祭司, 他一生忠心事奉神, 但他的兒子卻不行他的道, 生活非常敗壞, 好的父母卻沒有好的兒女; 亞們王是一位不敬畏神的人, 不行神的道敬拜偶像, 但他的兒子卻是一位非常敬拜神的約西亞王, 不好的父母卻有好兒女。作父母的挑戰真是很大的, 作父母的只要盡力按神為我們所設計去行, 將結果交在神的手裡。神為父母的設計是代表神來教訓, 警戒與養育神賜給我們的兒女。
