Week 1 Recap
Key week 1 injuries
- Keenan Allen, WR, San Diego Chargers: went down with a noncontact knee injury as he was coming out of a break in the second quarter. He stayed down on the field for a while before being carted off the field. Allen tore the ACL in his right knee and would miss the remainder of the season. * I think both Travis Benjamin and Tyrell Williams' value increases
- Russell Wilson, QB, Seattle Seahawks: Wilson hurt his ankle in the third quarter after getting sacked by Ndamukong Suh.
- Robert Griffin III, QB, Cleveland Browns: Griffin suffered the injury on a hit he took late in the game on the sideline at the end of a run. Griffin has a fractured coracoid bone in his left shoulder; he could be out for the season.
- Brian Cushing, LB, Houston Texans: Cushing was carted to the locker room in the first quarter with a knee injury. Cushing suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain.
- Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu, WRs, Atlanta Falcons: Both wide receivers tweaked their ankles on Sunday. Jones said he reinjured his left ankle after hurting it in the preseason, adding that he isn't worried. Sanu, meanwhile, could be seen limping heavily through the locker room after the game.

Week 1 fines
- 2 Broncos were fined for week 1 helmet to helmet hits on Cam Newton. LB Brandon Marshall fined $24,309 and S Darian Stewart fined $18,231 for same offense.
- HOU WR DeAndre Hopkins will not continue to pay fines of $6k a game to wear "Yeezy" cleats. Sorry Kanye
- Antonio Brown fined over $15K for wearing blue cleats and twerking on MNF

- Fabricio Werdum def. Travis Browne, unanimous decision
- Mickey Gall def. CM Punk, submission
- Gall's ground game was quickly put on display as he used a basic double-leg takedown to gain top position on Punk. From there, he'd dominate with a superior Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu game until Punk was made to submit via rear-naked choke. Punk deserves respect for giving his best effort, but he has zero chance to compete at this level of the sport.
