CLEAN AIR ZONES FOR BATH AND BIRMINGHAM
Bath has announced the date for their Clean Air Zone (CAZ), which will be 15 March 2021, also it is not for private cars or motorbikes. To read more, click the Motoring Research article here.

BP CHARGEMASTER IN £21M POLICE SCOTLAND DEAL
BP Chargemaster and Police Scotland have announced a deal, worth £21 million, to supply charging points for police vehicles. Scotland, unlike England, has a large network of free charging points for EVs so entering this market is quite tricky for charging point businesses. To read more, click the Autocar article here.
DVLA LAUNCHES ONLINE V5C LOG BOOK SERVICE
Back in June the DVLA launched an online service to update the V5C logbook, which was such a success that they are introducing a new service that will allow owners to apply for a duplicate logbook online. SKODA USES SOUND TO DIAGNOSE ENGINE ISSUES
Skoda is introducing an app to help them diagnose potential problems with a car, by analysing the sound waves recorded. This is a clever bit of technology being trialled which will hopefully lead to quicker solutions as the workshop will have a better idea of what the potential problem is before the car arrives. HIGHWAYS ENGLAND TRIALLING INFLATABLE BARRIER
The West Midlands is the location for a the trial of a new safety barrier for road workers. A large, inflatable cylinder will be positioned at the end of coned off sections, replacing the customary lorry with the large “Stop” sign on the back. To read more, click the Motoring Research article here.
DISCUSSIONS ON HOW WILL SPEED LIMITERS WORK IN CARS ONGOING
EU regulators and car manufacturers are in ongoing talks about how to best comply with the new rules for limiting a car to maximum speeds mandated. On one side it appears a much more forceful and dictatorial approach, whilst the manufacturers prefer to have reminders and warnings. To read more, click the BBC News article here.
