A person may, by the mystic process be able to perform many miracles and through cultivation of knowledge, he may be able to give us so much direction according to scripture and according to the performance of tapasya, he may be able to really, really just perform great great sacrifices, fasting and so on and so forth. To try to lead people in the right direction. But if there is pride in his heart that “just see, what I am giving, just see, what I have,” then that person cannot really be merciful, but a real sadhu.
