there is no such thing as death or destruction. It is a perception.

that the soul, the aatma, the life force in everyone, the flea or me or we, that life force is unborn and undying.

The life force is a part of God, like a spark from the sun, qualitatively of the same spiritual eternal substance as Kåñëa. That’s who we are. Just a small part. The Bhagavad gétä explains the atma, the soul cannot be cut into pieces by weapons, cannot even be moistened by the water of a tsunami and cannot be burned by even the most blazing fires.

It is not slain when the body is slain. And science tells us that matter is not destroyed, it is just transformed. Matter is an energy that is transformed from one particular form to another form. Right now, we have this body. If you burn it then the water element in the body goes into the environment to create moisture but it exists. And the earth element becomes ashes. So, physically things are just being transformed and from the spiritual perspective of the true self, it just moves on to another place. So, nothing’s really destroyed, if we see it in the light of truth.
