Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu approached Srivas Thakur. He said “Srivas do you remember long ago when Devananda Pandit offended you,” Srivas listening, He said “I was there and you should know whatever pain he caused you, was pain to my heart.” Whatever we do to the Lord’s devotee is what we do to the Lord. Krishna receives our offerings through His devotees. If we offend a devotee, we offend Krishna; if we please a devotee, we please Krishna. Devananda Pandit he had no access to the path of pure bhakti until he begged forgiveness to Srivas Thakur. We should know that ‘the Vaishnavas are so dear to Lord Shri Krishna that the supreme goal of our life should be to please them and the supreme fear of our life should be to offend them.’
