Jeremiah 15:18; Attempting to begin a discussion about the Lord, but the man's focus was on the bike. God Gave Jeremiah a hard ask, leading the Israelite through the captivity of Babylon. Jeremiah distrusted God because he loved God's people. But God said if you return, repent, I will restore you. Jeremiah would be the spokesmen, but keep yourself apart from the people. Most people around us are worthless, but they are precious in the sight of God. God attended for us to extract the precious from the worthless.
God perceives us as loved ones having crossed over from death to life as precious. In today's world some people seem worthless to us. Luke 19: The blind, worthless man calls to Jesus, and Jesus gave a worthless man his sight, a precious gift. We can be like the crowd, pass by blind people, perceiving them to be worthless. Or we can be lake the Pharisees who tell the "worthless" to shut-up. We want to silence the call to help the pour. We need to extract the precious from the worthless.
Maybe we could be like Jesus, where we reach out to the world's worthless. Like Jeremiah, we are called to the great commission. Jesus response was What do you want me to do for you. Recognize when others are seek God. We respond to what we can perceive, but can we listen to the Holy Spirit who points out opportunities to speak the Gospel. God told Jeremiah that there was value in allowing the Israelite to be captive for 70 years, as they would come back to God.
