The Bible has over 2,350 verses dealing with money and/or possessions. 15 percent of Jesus's statements dealt with money, portraying God's heart for us concerning our money--to be like Jesus. God is the first, the greatest, and the most generous Giver. John 3:16 - God Gave His Son. Mark 10:45 - Jesus gave His life as a ransom. 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 - He gave us the holy Spirit as a guarantee of our inheritance.
When we give, we are being like Him. Could God afford to give His Son?, No. So we should be able to give in our most difficult times. In Genesis, God gave Adam the breath of life. When we run out of money before we run out of month, Jesus tells us "to give". Whenever we give, we are like Jesus. God's heart for us is four us to become givers in the worst of times. Let each of us look to the best interest of other, and have the same attitude as Jesus.
