Description

"And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowed were astonished at his teaching." Matt 7:28; The sermon on the mount is the text were we get the concept of being a City of a Hill, and the quantity of lit lamps. All of us must light our lamps. Christianity is a simple concept but difficult to live out. There are only two types: the rigorous and the wicked.

Followers of "The Way" (Acts 9:2) In the early church whey did not referee to themselves as "Christians" but "followers of the Way". Beliefs requires actions resulting in a changed living.

Two Ways (Matt 7:13-27) God is asking us choose between the rigorous and the wicked. Ver. 13 - Enter through the gate; ver. 15-20: Ravenous wolfs; productive and bad trees; we are recognized by our fruit. Ver. 21-23: Not everyone who calls me Lord will enter the kingdom; but are subject to on how they live. Contrast between those who do the work of the Father and those who only believe. There are only two ways: either work for the Lord or work for yourself.

Demanding a Decision (Matt. 7:21,24,28) The decision to be made is which way will we will take? When Jesus finished speaking the sermon on the mount, the crowds (Hoi Polloi) were astonished. Most come to Jesus because they want something. Jesus is looking for the ones who do the will of the Father. Would you like to be a house that no storm can tare down? Then your choice should be His Way.
