Temptation of Adam

Satan plants doubt; "Did God really say that?"
Sin entered the world because Adam and Eve doubted the truth and listened to the wrong voice.

Throughout his life, Jesus is repeatedly tempted to abandon the cross and thus abandon God's plan to redeem humanity.
The mental torment Jesus faced is finally revealed at Gethsemane. Facing the cross, Jesus is "overwhelmed with sorrow" yet submits to his Father's will.

Matthew 26:36-41

Adam's Fate
As a result of his sin, Adam found himself standing naked and trembling before God, having to answer for his sin. He was also expelled from the garden, the place of God's presence.
The same fate awaits all who follow Adam's lead.

1 Corinthians 15: 21-22
