Sending of Noah - Genesis 9:1-4
Life is to be Perpetuated – fill the Earth –
1804 – 1Billion  1975 – 4 Billion  2024 – 8.1 Billion
Life is to be Prolonged – dominion over animals (management)/animals + plants for food

Do not eat Blood (Mark 7:15, Acts 10:9-16, Acts 15)
Blood is the life sources of the animal (Lev17:11-12; Heb 9:22)
Not a health concern only, but a spiritual concern – life/price of atonement (Leviticus)
Life is sacred.

Genesis 9:5-6
Life is to be Protected – death penalty & government established
If you murder you will be killed
This command is the basis for human government

Life is to be a Partnership with God – Covenant established
Conditional covenant – e.g. – employee

We see it – a reminder of past judgment, salvation, and security

Genesis 9:20-23
Not many details given – he got drunk – drunkenness is a sin (Proverbs, Eph. 5:18)
Drunkenness caused gross sin in 2 men in Genesis – Noah & Lot.
Believers are not to be in an altered state of mind from alcohol or other drugs (Eph. 5:18)
Proverbs 20:1 NLT Wine produces mockers; alcohol leads to brawls. Those led astray by drink cannot be wise.
Proverbs 23:29-30 NLT Who has anguish? Who has sorrow? Who is always fighting? Who is always complaining? Who has unnecessary bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes? (30) It is the one who spends long hours in the taverns, trying out new drinks.
The thing to bless became a curse
Psalms 104:15 ESV …and wine to gladden the heart of man, oil to make his face shine and bread to strengthen man's heart.

Genesis 9:28-29 After the flood Noah lived 350 years. (29) All the days of Noah were 950 years, and he died.

Luke 3:23-38

Similarities Noah & Adam
Adam was the head of the human race.
Noah was the head of the human race after the Flood.
Both are ancestors of all the people in the present world.
Both were told to be fruitful and multiply and have dominion over the animals.
Adam sinned by eating the forbidden fruit.
Noah sinned (drunkenness) by drinking wine made from a fruit.
Adam saw his nakedness after sinning.
Noah’s sin resulted in nakedness.
God gave a covering for Adam’s sin (coats of skins).
Noah was provided with a covering for his nakedness by his two sons.
God judged Adam’s actions with a curse and promised a Saviour.
Noah’s actions resulted in a curse and also promise of a spiritual blessing through Shem.
