Biblical definition of hope:
“ Confident expectation that the promises of God shall never fail ”
SET YOUR HOPE IN GOD !
Romans 15: v 4 -13
• Hope that is set in God
• Perspective –clarity of who I am and who God is
• Inspiration to trust in God and embrace His promises

Scriptures of Hope
Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose hope the Lord is … He is like a tree planted by water…
Psalm 78:6,7 that the generation to come might know…that they might set their hope in God and not forget His works
Psalm 42: 5 Why are you cast down, o my soul? Hope thou in God
Psalm 119: 81 My soul longs for your salvation, I have put my hope in your word
Romans 5:2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Hope in Jesus Christ Alone
His substitutionary Atonement - Luke 24:21 “ we had hoped ”
His righteousness that’s been imparted – Justification by faith Rom 5
His resurrection – 1 Cor 15:19 “ if in this life only we have hope ”
His words – Matt 7:24 “ everyone who hears my words” Matt 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away my my WORDS will not pass away
His coming “ He shall rise and reign” Rom 15:12 He’s coming to rule
This Hope is in you
Christ in you the HOPE OF GLORY – Col 1:27
A mystery – a revelation that God unveils to every believer
A deposit / a guarantee – Eph 1:14 ”the earnest (guarantee) of our inheritance
A connection – an anchor of the soul – Heb 6:19
An Attitude – I Tim 5:5 the widow who is left all alone has set her hope in God
The Evidence of our Hope
The past – Rom 15:4 – thing written for our instruction
For our encouragement
For our endurance
For our comfort
Consider the patriarchs - Their promises and their Hope
The present – we trust , worship, serve, we rejoice and wait for His coming
Be likeminded, Christ like, glorify God together, receive one another, confess Him
Rejoice in our HOPE
The Future – Christ is coming to rule and reign
He will come
Justice will be executed, righteousness will reign
Christ will Rule forever – Isaiah 9:7 & Luke 1:32 “ He shall be great…He shall reign”
Our Hope for 2024 is in Jesus Christ
Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet
been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He
is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself,
just as He is pure.
