How much are you worth …to God?
1. The Heart of God
- His Searching … “ seeking hidden treasure and fine pearls ”
- His Knowledge …” he knows our condition … treasure covered in dirt”
- His Joy … “ for JOY … he saw the end ….what he would make of the broken human race”
2. The Exchange of Possession “He went and sold all that He had…”
- 2 Cor 8:9 “ you know the grace of our Lord Jesus…for your sake He became poor”
- Philippians 2:6 “ He was on equality with God, made himself of no reputation…servant
3. The Cost – “ the ransom, the price He paid .. to uncover the treasure buried in dirt”
- Humiliation – rejection, and to be despised
- Suffering – a pearl is born out of suffering
- The Cross – to be a curse, to be rejected, forsaken, imprisoned, endure physical torture,
to bear God’s righteous punishment for the sins of humanity ….the chastisement of us all”
4. The Value of One Soul – “ Mark 8:36 What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and
lose his own soul? ... What can a man give in exchange for his soul ?
