What is Love?
Love (agape) is a complete, sacrificial commitment to
someone else’s well-being. It is an act of the will.

V 1-3 - Religion & Love
- Tongues
- Prophesy
- Faith
- Generosity
- Love is greater than all these things

V 4-7 - Love’s Action
Yes
- Patience
- Kindness
- Rejoices in Truth
- Bears all things
- Believes all things
- Hopes all things
- Endures all things
No
- Bragging
- Arrogance
- Rude
- Seeking own benefit
- Easily provoked
- Keep accounts of wrongdoing
- Rejoice in unrighteousness

V 8-10 Love’s Permanence
- Tongues, Prophesies and Knowledge are in place because of
human limitation.
- There will be no need for any of these things when we
meet the Lord face to face
- Love is forever

V 11-13 - Love’s Completeness
- Paul compares our current understanding of spiritual
things to childhood
- We now look forward to and long for Christ as through a
foggy mirror
- 3 things we experience now will come with us in eternity:
Faith, Hope, and Love
- The greatest one is Love

How God has Shown His Love
- Romans 5:8 - God loves us while we are still sinners
- 1 John 3:1 - We are adopted as Children of God
