IGNORING JESUS
1 Kings 19:11-12; Luke 2:11-12
To ignore - to disregard or overlook; a failure to acknowledge or recognize significance.
After witnessing GOD'S awesome display of power in Elijah's showdown with the false prophets of King Ahab & his wife (Jezebel), Elijah became discouraged when his life was threatened by the King's wife.
To get a point across, GOD follows Elijah to the wilderness and reveals:
a powerful wind, an earthquake and a fire but GOD could not be found in either.
Elijah experienced GOD in the solitude of a gentle whisper.
Tune in for this week's 'Words of Life' application challenge: are we guilty of ignoring (overlooking) GOD'S presence in our lives because we seek HIM only in grandiose/awe-inspiring/over the top moments instead of considering the still, small or unassuming circumstances (or people) HE expects us to tend to?
