Dependency - totally reliant upon; unable to be independent of/from.
Ever noticed how children rarely (if ever) concern themselves with: food being placed in front of them… transportation… protection from the 'boogeyman' @ night… roof over head, rent, mortgage, etc.?
JESUS used a child as the perfect example of how we must look to HIM and not: our motives, striving, goals, maneuvering, routines, rituals, positions, titles, etc. You name it. If it (or them) is not placed within the proper context of being secondary to JESUS (alone), we deserve the same admonishment JESUS gave the disciples.
